How to play

Music and sounds. Open Menu, then Settings, to turn the sounds off or on, play music while you play — ours, or your own songs from this computer — and swap any of the game's sounds for one of your own.

Aim the cannon and fire. With a mouse, point and click. With a finger, put it on the well, slide it to aim and let go to fire — or slide it back down to the cannon and let go there, and nothing is fired. A ball that touches two or more of its own colour pops the lot. A ball that touches anything else just sticks there — and that is how the pile grows.

Anything left hanging in mid air falls out of the well, and a ball cut loose is worth three times one popped. Cutting a big clump loose is the whole game.

The red line is the floor. If the pile reaches it the board is lost. On Normal the pile only ever grows from your own misses. On Hard it creeps downward the whole time. Open Menu and press New game to change the way you play or the size of the well. Menu pauses the game while it is open.

Clear every ball to win.

If you would like some help

Aiming line, in Settings (in Menu), has three settings. It starts on Just a stub — a short line off the cannon, which is how this game has always been played. All the way, with the bounce traces the whole shot, bank off the wall included, and shows a ghost of your ball sitting in the exact slot it will fill, so you can see what it will touch before you fire. Worth turning on while you get your eye in.

The odd ones

Spiky balls

The ones with spikes explode when they go, taking their neighbours with them whatever colour those are. They are a gift, not a hazard.
