Music and sounds. Open Menu, then Settings, to
turn the sounds off or on, play music while you play — ours,
or your own songs from this computer — and swap any of the
game's sounds for one of your own.
Swap any two pebbles that sit side by side. If the swap lines up
three or more of one colour, across or down, they crumble away.
Everything above drops into the gap, new pebbles fall in from the
top, and if those line up three by themselves they go as well
— which is worth more every time it happens in a row.
A swap that lines nothing up is not allowed. The two pebbles trade
places, trade straight back, and flash red.
Three ways to move a pebble
- Drag it
- Push it towards the one you want to trade with
- Tap it, then tap its neighbour
- Easier on a trackpad
- Arrow keys
- Move about the board, space to pick up, then an arrow to swap
If you get stuck
Press Hint and a swap that works lights up. Leave it a few
seconds and one lights up by itself. If a board ever runs out of
moves altogether it shuffles itself, and that costs you nothing.
Three ways to play
Open Menu and press New game to choose. Whatever you
pick stays picked.
30 moves is the one you start on: thirty swaps to beat the
target, for one, two or three stars. Only swaps that work count
against them, so a swap that lines nothing up costs you nothing.
10 minutes has no move limit and cannot be lost — see
how much you can score before the clock runs out. Tick
No timer and it becomes Endless: play as long as you
like.
Ladder is a climb, one level after another. Each level
chooses its own colours and target, and pays coins for its stars.
How many colours
Arcade has four colours, so lines fall into place by
themselves and there is always something going off.
Classic has five. Strategy has six, and even a line of
five is something to be proud of. Each keeps its own best scores.
Every board is numbered. Open Menu, then Settings, and
type a number into Board number to play that exact board again, or
hand the number to somebody else and they will get the same one.
