This page explains what Perry Computer Services keeps about you on perrycs.com, why, and what you can do about it. We don't sell any of it, and we don't use it for advertising.
To make an account we need an email address and a password. We also keep:
Your email identifies your account and lets us reach you for account messages, like password resets. Your password is never stored as plain text. It's salted and hashed before it touches our database, so even we can't see it.
Some parts of the site keep what you put into them, so it follows you from device to device:
We only use what you save to show it back to you. It isn't encrypted in a way that would lock us out, so the people who run the server can reach it when they have to, for example to fix a problem.
Our Add to Boxes extension for Chrome, Brave and similar browsers does one thing. When you click its button, or choose it from the right-click menu, it opens a small perrycs.com window and passes it the address and title of that page or link. That window saves the link to your boxes, using the sign-in you already have on our site.
If you make a share link for a calendar, anyone who has the link can see what you chose to share: only the times you're busy, or the details too. We note when a link was last opened, so you can see whether it's being used. You can turn a link off at any time.
A business using PCS Accounting keeps its records here: its company details; the staff it adds, with names, phone numbers, email addresses and what each may do; its customers, with names, phone numbers, email and street addresses, and notes; service requests, products, invoices, and the payments it records. We also keep a log of changes, so the business can see who changed what.
These records belong to the business that entered them. We store them for that business and don't use them for anything else. If you're one of its customers and want something changed, ask the business first; you can also contact us.
When a business invites a staff member to sign in, we email the invitation to the address the business gives us. We keep every invitation and what became of it (accepted, declined, withdrawn or expired) as a permanent record.
If your business uses PCS Remote IT, we keep with your account the consoles (your technicians' computers) that have used your activation code, when each was approved or revoked, and how much data we relay for you each month.
In an upcoming release, your list of customer computers will also be kept with your account, so all your consoles see the same list. It will include:
This information belongs to the business that uses it. We store it for that business and don't look at it or use it for anything else. If you're one of its customers, ask the business first; you can also contact us.
If you ask us to tell you when something opens, we keep your email address, which list you joined, the wording you agreed to, and when. We send one email to confirm it's really you, and every email after that has a link to take yourself off the list.
Sign in with Google. If you choose it, Google asks your permission first, then sends us your email address, whether Google has verified it, and an ID number for your Google account. We keep only the email address. We never see your Google password, we use the access Google gives us once, to read your address, and we don't keep it. An account made this way has no password here; you can set one any time with "Forgot password".
reCAPTCHA. Our sign-in page uses Google reCAPTCHA to keep automated sign-ups out. It sends information about your browser and how you use the page to Google. Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.
Fonts. Our pages load their fonts from Google Fonts, so your browser asks Google's servers for them, and Google sees your IP address when it does.
YouTube. Videos you play in My Boxes play in YouTube's own player, so YouTube's privacy policy applies to them.
We don't use advertising or tracking cookies, and there is no analytics service on the site. Your browser keeps a few things for us: your sign-in, so the site knows it's you; your settings, such as text size; and game progress. Signing in with Google sets one short-lived cookie that expires after ten minutes.
We only send email you asked for or need: confirming your address, resetting a password, an invitation from a business, and the mailing list if you joined it.
We don't sell or share your information with anyone, apart from what this page describes (the share links you make, the invitations a business sends, and the Google services above), or if the law requires it.
Connections to perrycs.com are encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are salted and hashed. Invitation links and share links are long random codes, and invitation codes are stored only in scrambled (hashed) form. Everything is stored on our own server, which we rent from DigitalOcean.
We keep your information while your account is open. You can delete what you save in My Boxes and the calendar at any time. To close your account and delete its data, contact us. A few records are kept on purpose, because their job is to show what happened: PCS Accounting's invitation history and change log, PCS Remote IT's connection history, and our record of changes made to accounts.
You can change your password and email address from your account settings, turn off share links, and leave the mailing list whenever you like. For anything else, including deleting your account, contact us.
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
